Exploring France

France is a country that can delight any and every kind of traveler – from romantics to fashionistas, from oenophiles to coffee lovers, from history buffs to jazz enthusiasts, from art connoisseurs to gastronomes, from beach lovers to mountain climbers. Every corner of France has something unique to offer – not just in terms of weather but also in terms of culture. The French countryside attracts as many tourists as does the City of Lights. Hiring the Avis car will help you easily navigate the exquisite landmarks, spectacular scenery, historical monuments, world renowned art galleries and jazz clubs.

Begin your trip from the most obvious choice – Paris. Truly unique and incomparable with any other place in the world, it is rightly said that "there is only one Paris". Glorious beyond words, no postcard picture can ever capture the true essence of Paris and the enchanting Eiffel Tower. Catching a breathtaking sunset, followed by dinner at one of Eiffel Tower’s many restaurants is a must-do. For a taste of medieval Paris take to the famous Latin Quarters, lined with quaint bookshops and eclectic boutique shops. Art lover or not, Paris is incomplete without the Louvre Museums housing some of the greatest artworks ever created including the masterpiece - Mona Lisa by Leonardo DaVinci amongst others. Paris is not full of just amazing architecture but also good cafes. Boulevard Saint-Germain-de-Prés, in. particular, is a must visit, because you can’t visit Paris and not have a Parisian coffee. Before you depart from the City of Lights, make sure to visit Champs-Elysées, and Notre-Dame Cathedral.

Followed by Paris, take your Avis car rental to Versailles, just under a 30km drive via N118. Château de Versailles, undoubtedly the most beautiful castle in the world, is a legacy of the Sun King. Don’t miss the Mirrors Gallery, the apartments of the King, and the Queen and the view on the Garden from the windows.

Take your Avis car to the sunnier countryside of Provence, where a fragrant flavour envelopes you and rolling hills with farms of lavender lie stretching as far as the eye can see. More beautiful than any sight you may have beholden, the dreamy landscape of Provence has provided inspiration to many artists over the years. Explore quaint villages nestles atop hilltops, overlooking the French Riviera. Experience the best of French Riviera, by driving your cities of Nice, St Tropez, Cannes, and Marseille, bestowed with a sunny disposition, quite literally.

Relish the finest of cuisines, sample some of the best wines in the world, ski in the glorious French Alps, soak up the local markets, enjoy a Candlelit Evening at Château Vaux-le-Vicomte, treat your eyes to the pastoral landscape of the Burgundy region, delight in an unspoiled coastal scenery of Brittany to capture the true essence of France.
