  • Q. How old do I need to be to rent a Car from Avis?

    A. You can rent an Avis Self Drive car if you are 18 years or above.

  • Q. How can I reserve a car?

    A. You can make a reservation through “Avis India” website www.avis.co.in or mobile App.

  • Q. is there an option to rent a car for a longer period ?

    With Avis Flex, allows you to get a price benefit when you book for 7 days and above on select car models. Rentals start for as low as Rs 1250/day.

    Note: Avis Flex can be booked over the website only. We will soon be launching it on the “Avis India” mobile app and mobile site.

  • Q. Do I need to pick up the car from Avis rental office?

    A. All the cars are delivered and collected free of cost to the address specified at the time of making a booking. Note; cars will not be delivered to any public places like malls, metro station, etc.

    Avis holds the right to cancel the booking in such case.

  • Q. I need to drop off the car at a different location, can I do that?

    A. No. The car will be collected by our driver from the place to where it was delivered.

  • Q. What fuel types are available in Avis cars?

    A. For self-drive, we only have diesel cars in our fleet

  • Q. What is the fuel policy?

    A. As per the Avis fuel policy:

    • The car will be delivered with a full tank and need to be returned in the same manner.

    • Customer pays for the fuel charges based on the usage.

    • If the car is returned with less than full tank fuel, Avis will charge for the differential fuel.

    • The customer can either pay this directly by cash/card at the time of car pick up by Avis driver or the same will be deducted from the security deposit.

    • The assessment made by the Avis driver on the differential fuel amount will be final.

  • Q. What if I return the car late?

    A.Guest needs to inform Avis in advance for rental extension. An extension or grace period of up to 1 hours is permissible if informed with no extra charges. If the extension exceeds 1 hours, following charges will be applicable for every hour including the 1-hour grace period.

    To avoid paying any extension fee we request our guest to extend the booking through the Avis India website or mobile app. This is applicable on both self-drive and chauffeur-drive.

    In case there is any change in the plans i.e.: If your travel dates, or pick up/ drop location changes ahead of time, you can easily modify your already reserved rental with Avis at no additional modification fee. Avis provides you complete flexibility, ease and control over your car rental experience by letting you change your dates, city or even the car model.

  • Q. What is your cancellation policy?

    A. As per Avis cancellation policy, if the booking is cancelled:

    48 hours prior to pick up time

    No cancellation charges

    Within 24 to 48 hours of pick up time

    3% of the rental amount will be deducted.

    Within 12 to 24 hours of pick up time

    25% of the rental amount will be deducted

    Within 0 to 12 hours of pick up time

    50% of the rental amount will be deducted

    At or after pick up time

    No refund

  • Q. Where all places AVIS does not deliver their cars?

    A. Cars will not be delivered at Metro Stations, Malls or Public Places (AVIS holds the right to refuse the delivery of the car at any anonymous public place which it considers inappropriate).
