{"id":3429,"date":"2019-08-29T15:18:18","date_gmt":"2019-08-29T09:48:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.avis.co.in\/blog\/?p=3429"},"modified":"2022-10-18T15:44:45","modified_gmt":"2022-10-18T10:14:45","slug":"avis-puts-light-on-electric-mobility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.avis.co.in\/blog\/avis-puts-light-on-electric-mobility\/","title":{"rendered":"Avis puts light on electric mobility"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>New Delhi: India&#8217;s leading car rental service provider\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/auto.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/avis+india\">Avis India<\/a>\u00a0is promoting\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/auto.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/electric+mobility\">electric mobility<\/a>\u00a0in its drive to create awareness about sustainable energy.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The company is supporting Guinness World Record holder\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/auto.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/sushil+reddy\">Sushil Reddy<\/a>\u00a0to drive awareness about sustainable energy, christened as &#8216;The SunPedal Ride&#8217;.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The SunPedal Ride includes a series of journeys on solar powered\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/auto.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/tag\/electric+vehicles\">electric vehicles<\/a>. Avis India will provide the support vehicle and fuel to Sushil on the 60-day long journey covering 6,000 kilometres along the Golden Quadrilateral.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Speaking about the collaboration, Sunil Gupta, MD and CEO, Avis India said, \u201cAir pollution is no longer a minor concern, but a major global crisis. Being a prominent name in the transportation space, we consider it our responsibility to raise awareness about measures that will help mitigate it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The move comes at a time when Indian government is pushing the electric mobility plan harder.
